History
Kupferwerk was founded in 2003 by Florian M. Steger and Matthew Ulbrich. Using their knowledge in graphical interface design, usability and Internet technologies, they helped big industrial clients like Siemens, DaimlerChrysler and Bosch to create user- friendly and good-looking digital interfaces for home appliances, automotive controls and industrial devices.

In between those projects, the online community sucker.de was created. At first, this was only a playground to test new ideas and technologies for web applications, but with our focus on user generated content, regional youth culture and events, sucker.de shot to fame and grew quite popular – without spending a dime for ads or even thinking about marketing! In 2005, several media companies approached us about the technological framework of sucker.de and we started to build online communities for other clients.
After two more years we were asked by the former EM.Sport Media AG, Ismaning (now named as Constantin Medien AG) to join their group. They acquired a majority share of Kupferwerk to support their growth in the online market. With regard to technical and content-based enhancements of their own and new content platforms and community applications, Kupferwerk is the ideal extension of the competences and capacities of Sport1.de - Germany´s leading sport portal which belongs to Constantin Medien AG.
Today we implement interactive mobile, video and web applications with services ranging from conception and development to technical operation, maintenance support, SEO and SEM. Within our main development center in Regensburg and with local contacts close to our clients, our young and professional team of consulting, design and development experts (right now over 30 of them) can realize clients ideas quickly and professionally by using the latest technologies.
